The key to effectiveness is consistency. It’s simply a matter of increasing the number of times you listen to and translate the material. You could also add handwriting to this—some people say it’s effective, others don’t.
What can you work on with this app?
Pronunciation.
Repeat after the narrator without stopping. Don’t worry about memorizing the phrases. The goal is to keep your speech from getting “tangled.” You must speak out loud. Unfortunately, this is a challenge, but there’s no other way around it.
Translation and grammar comprehension.
By reading the translation and repeating phrases multiple times using the spaced repetition method, you’ll improve your vocabulary, and word combinations will become clearer.
Back-translation.
This is when you have the source text in front of you and must translate it instantly. This skill is especially useful.
Words
Up to 10 sentences are dedicated to each word. This means that the target word will appear in every sentence. And you’ll naturally commit to memory the sentence that best fits your own internal grammar and communication style. If you don’t like a particular phrase or think it’s “wrong,” feel free to discard it. The message is simple: learning words from a list is useless!
